Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Foli ("Foli," "we," "us," or "our") helps designers understand and improve their portfolios. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to foli.design and the Foli application (together, the "Service").
By using Foli, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who we are
Foli is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [BUSINESS ADDRESS]. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at info@foli.design.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and password (handled securely by our authentication provider, Supabase).
Portfolio and career content. The website links, screenshots, case study images, and career context (your designer type, experience level, career goals, and target roles) you provide so Foli can review your portfolio.
Resume content. If you upload a resume (PDF, DOCX, or TXT), we extract and store the text so Foli can analyze it against a job description.
Community content. If you choose to share a portfolio, post, or comment in the Foli community, that content is visible to other users as you've set it.
Payment information. If you subscribe to Foli Pro or purchase a one-time review, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number.
Usage data. We automatically collect some information about how you use the Service, such as pages visited, features used, and general device/browser information, including through Google Analytics.
Communications. If you email us or contact support, we keep a record of that correspondence.
3. How we use your information
- To generate your portfolio and resume reviews. This means sending the content you provide to Anthropic's Claude API, which processes it to produce your feedback.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send you transactional emails, such as letting you know a review is ready, account notices, and (if you don't opt out) occasional product updates.
- To power community features you opt into, like sharing your portfolio or giving feedback to other designers.
- To respond to your questions and support requests.
- To understand how people use Foli so we can make it better, and to detect and prevent abuse.
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Foli, each of which processes data on our behalf:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Anthropic — processes your portfolio and resume content to generate AI-powered reviews.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Resend — delivers transactional emails.
- Google Analytics — usage analytics.
- Vercel — hosts the application.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Foli, our users, or others.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep it to comply with the law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export a copy of your data.
- Object to or limit certain kinds of processing.
You can update most of your information directly in your account settings, or contact us at info@foli.design to make a request. [If Foli serves residents of the EU/EEA, UK, or California specifically, this section should be expanded with the formal rights and disclosures required under GDPR and/or CCPA/CPRA.]
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our database. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
Foli is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the Service is used, including through Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the Service may not work properly without them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know directly.
